The Congress of the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery occurs every two years and brings together international leaders in the field of microsurgery. “It is an honor to invited to speak to this prestigious group of surgeons from around the world,” states Dr. DellaCroce. “By sharing what we are doing at the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery we can further advance the science and art of microsurgery.” Dr. DellaCroce recently returned from the 4th Hunan Province Medical Forum on Oncology in Changsha, Hunan Province, China where he presented a lecture on the newly developed “APEX FlapSM” and Composite Stacked Breast Reconstruction.

Dr. DellaCroce is also co-founder of the St. Charles Surgical Hospital—the only hospital in the world dedicated to breast reconstruction for women facing breast cancer. As a world leader in breast reconstruction techniques, he is pioneering revolutionary approaches and advancing the care of women affected by breast cancer and congenital breast deformities. Dr. DellaCroce and his partners are experts in procedural technology that allows for recreation of a lost breast with living fatty tissue transplantation. These techniques, referred to as “Perforator Flaps”, allow for reconstruction of the breast with a focus on preservation of function and aesthetic beauty. The surgical team at the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery has recently pioneered a groundbreaking new breast reconstruction option, the BodyLift Perforator FlapSM Breast Reconstruction and are concurrently publishing their work on a new Nipple Sparing Mastectomy advancement. Together they have performed over 6000 successful breast reconstructions on women from all over the world.
